“I’ve always been creating,” says artist Julie Nunn, a ceramicist, painter, photographer, and teacher who studied art at the University of the Pacific. Splitting her time between Mill Valley and Palos Verdes, Nunn draws inspiration from her grandmother, sculptor Barbara Nunn, and artists like Picasso. She paints with oils and pastels on canvas and birch, shaping movement and color into emotion.
A lifelong beach lover, Nunn finds renewal in the sea. “The water calls to me,” she says. “With my toes in the sand and wind at my back, I feel home.”
